Eating Disorders

An eating disorder is an illness that is characterized by irregular eating habits. Eating disorders develop as a result of several underlying factors such as trauma, depression, anxiety, and family dysfunction. The underlying issues develop into an unhealthy relationship with food.

Eating disorder can become debilitating life threatening illnesses that can cause neurological changes in the brain and dysfunctional thoughts and behavior.

Addressing eating disorders in therapy consist of psychotherapeutic approaches that target underlying trauma, cognitive, behavioral and emotional disruptions. I have several years of experience working with individuals suffering with eating disorders. My approach is to carefully listen to each client’s life experience and craft a three phase treatment plan.
